“I know that Levan Khabeishvili wants to defeat them [Georgian Dream government]; we want that too. It’s just that we see the process differently, have different strategies, and our paths diverge here as well,” Aleko Elisashvili, one of the leaders of Strong Georgia, stated.

He expressed respect for Khabeishvili [United National Movement].

“I have great respect for Levan. He is a very brave, courageous, and determined person. I know and do not doubt that he aims to remove this government. We share the same objective, to defeat and oust it, but our methods and strategies differ. Levan and others have a different strategy, and this is where our paths diverge. We must each follow our own path, and Levan will proceed independently,” Elisashvili explained.

When asked whether a peaceful revolutionary path is a realistic one, Elisashvili responded that this will be obvious on October 4 [municipal election date].

“We will find out on October 4,” he said.

Levan Khabeishvili, chairman of the United National Movement’s political council, recently posted on social media: “If a politician refuses to participate in the ‘elections’ of an illegitimate government, then the second option is a peaceful overthrow; there is no third path.”
