Giorgi Vashadze, the leader of Strategy Agmashenebeli and head of the Victory Platform election campaign, has emphasized the importance of the Munich conference as a high-profile forum where European and Western leaders, as well as business circles, gather to discuss political and economic matters.
“The Munich conference is one of the largest forums where European and Western leaders, along with business circles, gather to explore investment opportunities. When Ivanishvili’s party declares a boycott, it indicates a prioritization of Ivanishvili’s interests over those of the people. The decision not only affects political discussions on EU enlargement but also misses the chance to engage with investors seeking alternative locations in our region due to their departure from Russia,” he stated.
According to him, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze arrived in Brussels at the time when all European leaders are in Munich.
“When leaders choose not to protect their country’s interests at such events, it raises questions about their commitment to expedited accession to the European Union. If one chooses to be in Brussels while European leaders gather in Munich, it suggests a lack of interest in engaging with key stakeholders,” Vashadze stated.
