Strategy Aghmashenebeli's Vashadze touched by Onise Tskhadadze’s story, condemns regime’s inhumanity
“I was deeply touched by the story of Onise Tskhadadze, the imprisoned comedian. He was denied the chance to mourn his deceased father. The regime shows a shocking lack of humanity by preventing innocent young people from attending their parents’ funerals,” stated Giorgi Vashadze, leader of the Strategy Aghmashenebeli party, in a post on Facebook.
“Our imprisonment cannot compare to this heartbreaking story. We stand firm, accepting that the path to freedom sometimes passes through a jail cell.
Yet today, I was profoundly touched by Onise Tskhadadze’s story. He was denied the opportunity to say goodbye to his passed father. This marks the third case where a parent of a prisoner of conscience has died. The regime’s inhumanity is evident in its refusal to allow innocent youth to attend their parents’ funerals.
Now, more than ever, you must realize that this is not merely a political struggle. It is a fight for humanity itself. That is why this regime is wicked, and reconciliation with evil or surrender is a crime. We will only succeed through unity,” Vashadze declared.
