Strategy Aghmashenebeli labels PM's letter as proof of GD’s power retention agenda
“Irakli Kobakhidze’s open letter is directed against the country’s interests but serves as clear evidence of the Georgian Dream’s (GD) relentless pursuit of power,” stated Paata Manjgaladze, a member of the Strategy Aghmashenebeli party.
According to Manjgaladze, the tone of the letter is not diplomatic. Instead, it resonates with Russian propaganda.
“This is the delusion of an ungrateful Russian who blames his strategic partner, America, for Ivanishvili’s actions against Georgia: corruption, oppression, anti-Western laws, war against the people, isolation, and leaving Georgia defenceless.
It has nothing to do with a reset in relations. The letter is saturated with Russian propaganda, echoing a conspiracy against a nation that has defended its sovereignty since 1991.
The letter demands an explanation for why the corrupt regime is being punished. Yet this regime prefers money over freedom and power over its people.
This letter fundamentally opposes Georgia’s interests. It stands as a testament to GD’s attempt to cling to power: selling out the country, its future, and its vulnerable citizens. That is what Kobakhidze’s letter is truly about. But we must tell Ivanishvili that Georgia is not Kobakhidze.
Georgia is not Ivanishvili and his corrupt clique!
Georgia is the youth and the people fighting for freedom and a European future in the streets!
Georgia is teachers, doctors, journalists, who say no to the Russian swamp!
The true source of freedom is the people—those who will not rest until Georgia is free, secure, and part of Europe!” Manjgaladze emphasised.
In an open letter addressed to President Donald Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze expressed concern over the lack of high-level communication and recent unfriendly legislative actions, urging the U.S. administration to reconsider its approach and reaffirm its support for Georgia’s democratic development and sovereignty.
