First Channel released a statement in connection with Torpedo – Ludogorets football match.
“Kutaisi Torpedo has qualified for playoff of UEFA Europa League and Professional Football Club Ludogorets of Bulgaria will be its rival. The developments may lead to the same misunderstanding as it happened in case of live transmission of the match with FK Kukësi (Albania) when football fans expressed dissatisfaction toward Georgian Public Broadcaster (GPB).
We would like to clarify that the broadcasting right goes to Kutaisi Torpedo and it sold transmission right to a foreign medieval company in case of FK Kukësi.
This time GPB, is also ready to exchange the signal with Bulgaria but consent of Torpedo management is needed. The club is considering different proposals and negotiations on part of First Channel are impossible under such circumstances.
First Channel is always ready to serve Georgian football cubs free of charge. Our purpose is not commercialization of the match. We do not have a response on transmission 2 days ahead of the match, though,” reads the statement.
