State to fully finance liver transplant surgery

The state will now fully finance liver transplant surgery, announced the Georgian Minister of Health, Zurab Azarashvili, following the government session.

The Minister emphasized the significance of this decision, noting that previously the costs were covered partly.

“In previous cases, the state only financed GEL 70,000 out of the total GEL 120,000 required for liver transplant surgery. It was challenging for individuals to gather the remaining GEL 50,000. Therefore, the state has decided to finance the diagnosis and transplant surgery costs in full.

From today, the state will cover the entire GEL 120,000 for liver transplant procedures,” he stated.
