State Minister for Reconciliation meets U.S. Senior Advisor for Caucasus Negotiations
The State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality, Tea Akhvlediani held a meeting with Louis Bono, the U.S. Senior Advisor for Caucasus Negotiations.
According to the Ministry’s press office, Tea Akhvlediani thanked the foreign diplomat for the U.S. firm support of Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity within the internationally recognized borders and emphasized the U.S. role in the process of peaceful settlement of the conflict in Georgia.
“Tea Akhvlediani updated the US Senior Advisor on the implementation of reconciliation and engagement policies, including the peace initiative “Step Towards a Better Future,” which aims to improve socio-economic conditions for conflict-affected populations.
The parties emphasised the importance of international discussions in Geneva and the necessity of moving forward.
The US Senior Advisor reiterated the United States’ steadfast support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity within internationally recognized borders, as well as the government’s peace policy. The parties have agreed to maintain close collaboration,” reads the statement.
