SSSG: Georgian citizen unlawfully detained near Sachkhere Municipality released
A Georgian citizen unlawfully detained by Russian occupying forces near the Sachkhere Municipality has been released and is now within the territory controlled by the central government, the State Security Service of Georgia (SSSG) announced.
According to the SSSG, in the process of securing the release of the Georgian citizen from unlawful detention, both the “hotline” mechanism operating with the direct involvement of the European Union Monitoring Mission in Georgia (EUMM) and all other relevant tools at the disposal of the central government were actively employed.
“The government, through the State Security Service, continues to work tirelessly to secure the release of all Georgian citizens unlawfully detained in the occupied territories,” the SSSG said.
