SSSG Anti-Corruption Agency officer found dead in Khashuri; investigation launched
An officer of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the State Security Service of Georgia (SSSG) has been found shot dead from a self-inflicted wound in his car in Khashuri town.
The Shida Kartli and Mtskheta-Mtianeti Regional Investigation Department of the Georgian Prosecutor’s Office launched an investigation into the death case under Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
“An employee of the Anti-Corruption Agency was found dead in his car today on Tabidze Street in Khashuri, from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Relevant urgent investigative actions are underway,” the Prosecutor’s Office said.
The SSSG offered its condolences and expressed deep sympathy to the families and relatives of the deceased employee.
“His death is a great tragedy and loss for us and our service,” the SSSG said in the statement.
