SSSG Anti-Corruption Agency detains Hermesi official on commercial bribery fact
Officers of the Investigation Department of the Anti-Corruption Agency at the State Security Service of Georgia (SSSG) detained one supervisory official of Hermesi LTD of the Tbilisi City Hall on the fact of commercial bribery.
According to the SSSG, the official unlawfully registered a 3-place grave located at the Mukhatgverdi cemetery for a citizen in return for money without presenting a death certificate.
The investigation determined that the detained individual produced a counterfeit document in the name of the citizen’s grandfather, as if he had already been buried on that territory, in return for 4600 GEL. The investigation obtained audio-video evidence confirming money-taking fact into two parts.
The investigation is in progress under Article 221 of the Criminal Code of Georgia. The detainee faces 4-6 years’ imprisonment.
