SSG continues interrogations in Terrorism and Conspiracy probe

The State Security Service continues to interrogate witnesses as part of the ongoing investigation into terrorism and conspiracy cases.

Mauri Machalikashvili arrived at the agency for questioning but declined to comment to the media, stating he was not summoned specifically for the terrorism and conspiracy charges.

He attended the interrogation with a lawyer, and it is not yet clear what the specific issue of his questioning is. In parallel, inquiries are also being conducted in the city court.

Beka Tchulukhidze is currently being questioned before a magistrate judge and has denied any connection to the terrorism case. Another witness, Vazha Tsitsiloshvili, is scheduled to be questioned today and also denies involvement, claiming no connection with former high-ranking Georgian officials in Ukraine or ex-law enforcement personnel.

Over 20 individuals have been interviewed since the investigation began, which has been ongoing for over two weeks. Some witnesses have appeared before the magistrate judge in the city court.

The State Security Service is investigating the alleged preparation of a terrorist act and conspiracy to overthrow the state government under Article 18-323 and Article 315 of the Civil Code of Georgia.

The investigation concerns an alleged plot to murder Bidzina Ivanishvili, the honorary chairman of the Georgian Dream party, purportedly organized and financed by former high-ranking Georgian officials in Ukraine and former law enforcement agents.
