Speaker: Zelenskyy keeps Irakli Kobakhidze on sanctions list, but he talked to PM; This indicates their incorrect policy toward Georgian people

“President Zelenskyy’s initiative to talk to Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze indicates that any unjust policy is doomed to failure,” said Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili.

According to the Speaker, Zelenskyy’s conversation with Irakli Kobakhidze is a sign of recognition that actions against the Georgian people do not bring results.

“Zelenskyy’s initiative to speak to Georgian Prime Minister indicates that any policy, which is unjust from the beginning, is doomed to failure. Zelenskyy keeps Irakli Kobakhidze on the sanctions list. However, he had to go and talk to Irakli Kobakhidze himself. This means how incorrect the Ukrainian government’s policy was toward the Georgian people. This is a sign of recognition that actions against the Georgian people do not bring results. Betting on forces dictated by the Georgian people’s betrayal will not bring good results.

We have always said that we remain in the format of unilateral friendship, not only with Ukraine, but also with all governments that have an unjust policy against Georgia. In these relations, we are right. Whoever took the wrong step regarding Georgia will realize their mistake. We are ready to review all these relations,” he said.

Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during the 8th Summit of the European Political Community (EPC) in Yerevan, on May 4.
