Speaker regrets interference of foreign organizations in judicial issues

Georgian Parliament Speaker, Shalva Papuashvili regrets that through certain NGOs, interference of foreign organizations in Georgian judicial issues turned into “moral terror.”

According to the Speaker, he became familiar with the passages of judges on so-called vetting at the Supreme Court Plenum session.

“Regrettably, thanks to some NGOs and with their goal to gain political power, the participation of foreign organizations in judicial issues has turned into an attack on the judiciary, hostile rhetoric against judges and moral terror against their family members, i.e. everything that is anti-European,” he said.

Shalva Papuashvili expressed respect toward the Supreme Court Chairwoman, Nino Kadagidze and Georgian judges saying the Georgian parliament “would do its best to stop unfair attacks that aim to discredit the court system and inflict harm to the Georgian state.”
