Speaker: Radical opposition serves foreign patrons, pursuing their agenda against Georgia
“The radical opposition, in the hands of their foreign patrons, is being used to implement an agenda directed against Georgia, according to the wishes of the groups that organise, patronise, and finance them,” stated Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili.
He emphasised that the core issues lie within Brussels.
“Let us not view the radical opposition as merely a political actor in isolation. It is a tool manipulated by foreign sponsors to orchestrate this entire process. Consequently, the radical opposition is employed to push an agenda against Georgia, aligned with the interests of those who organise, support, and fund them. The real problems are rooted in Brussels. The main concern today is that Brussels is acting in a manner reminiscent of Soviet Moscow’s approach, steadfastly adhering to a confrontational path. Rather than engaging in dialogue, there is confrontation; instead of prioritising the interests of others, there appears to be a relentless pursuit of a self-serving agenda,” stated Shalva Papuashvili.
