“Georgia-China relations have made impressive progress in recent years. This progress is characterised by the expansion of political dialogue, economic cooperation, intercultural exchanges, and people-to-people links,” stated Shalva Papuashvili, Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, following his meeting with Wang Huning, the Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).

Papuashvili expressed gratitude to China for its steadfast support for Georgia’s territorial integrity and its policy of non-recognition of occupied territories.

“Georgia and China share a common commitment to defending national sovereignty, peace, and security, as well as upholding the principles of international law and mutual respect in international relations. In this regard, I would like to thank the People’s Republic of China for its unwavering support for Georgia’s territorial integrity and its policy of non-recognition of occupied territories.

Next year marks the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations between our countries. I am confident that the positive momentum and expanding cooperation across various sectors will further deepen and gradually elevate our bilateral relationship to the level of a comprehensive partnership,” Papuashvili said.
