Speaker: Had Georgia yielded to Brussels’ pressure, we would be like Ukraine today, unable to sustain peace or war
“Our society clearly recognises that the policy of the Georgian Dream has been right and justified, especially over the past year. Everything we predicted has proven to be true; all the risks we warned about have materialised, and the hypocrites have been exposed,” said the Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia, Shalva Papuashvili.
According to him, all the issues that the Georgian Dream presented to the public, including during the pre-election period, particularly its vision on foreign policy and geopolitics, have come to pass.
“The Georgian Dream once again demonstrated how crucial it was to resist the immense pressure exerted by the European Union, Brussels, and their affiliated NGOs and parties on the Georgian government. How important it was to withstand this pressure, and where would we be today if we hadn’t? We would be like Ukraine, unable to maintain peace or war. The hypocritical political leaders have brought Ukraine to this point. They are also misleading it and, in effect, pushing the Ukrainian people into an even worse situation,” said Shalva Papuashvili.
Regarding the U.S.-EU relations, Papuashvili stated that the new U.S. administration has a special role in openly and clearly conveying the truth to European bureaucrats and political leaders.
“To remind them of what they have long been touting as a symbol of Europeanism and civilisation; to tell them that, under the guise of this Europeanism and pseudo-Europeanism, the European Union has become a territory where freedom of speech and democracy are restricted, where minorities govern rather than the will of the majority being shared, and conflict prevails over peace. I believe it is time for European leaders to wake up. They have betrayed their own people and the will of the European populace. The only way forward is to start implementing the true will of their citizens.
The American administration has directly warned them of what will happen, exactly what we have been discussing: the loss of European identity. This is the endpoint towards which the current leadership of Europe is heading, leading to the complete erasure of European identity,” said Shalva Papuashvili.
