Speaker condemns German ambassador-backed 'Titushki' attack on GD HQ, calls it gross electoral interference

“The support of extremists by a foreign ambassador during the election campaign is a clear example of gross interference in the elections,” wrote Shalva Papuashvili, the Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia, on social media.

“The ‘Titushki’ supported by the German ambassador today, for the third time, attacked the Georgian Dream headquarters in Tbilisi with fascist chants.

The support of extremists and the failure of a foreign ambassador to condemn such violence during an election campaign constitute gross interference in the elections, violating the Vienna Convention,” Shalva Papuashvili wrote.

A tense confrontation erupted at Kakha Kaladze’s election headquarters on Melikishvili Avenue last night, involving members of the Georgian Dream youth wing and protesters. Both sides exchanged accusations over the attack, which escalated into a physical altercation resulting in injuries.
