There are serious injuries on the body of Archil Tatunashvili, – Sozar Subari, Minister of IDPs, Accommodation and Refugees of Georgia made the regarding statement.

According to him, expert hired by the family also attended the examination of Archil Tatunashvili’s body.

“The expert of the family attended the examination. Obviously there are serious injuries. We all knew this; I just did not want the family to hear about it from TV. After when father and expert learnt about it naturally, we also confirmed what we already knew”, – said Sozar Subari.

Tatunashvili’s body was handed over to the Georgian side at Ergneti checkpoint late on March 20. Members of Red Cross brought the body to the occupied line. Law enforcers and members of the government were present at site.

The examination of  body was conducted on March 20-21 at Levan Samkharauli National Forensics Bureau.

According to State Security Service of Georgia, on February 22, 2018, representatives of the occupied Tskhinvali region illegally detained the citizens of Georgia: Archil Tatunashvili, Levan Kutashvili and Ioseb Pavliashvili. According to occupied Tskhinvali regime, Archil Tatunashvili died in the hospital in Tskhinvali on February 23. Heart attack was named as the reason of death.

Archil Tatunashvili  will be buried at Kanda cemetery on Saturday, March 24 with military honor.
