Shalva Papuashvili comments on self-exiled activist’s German criminal probe: Fleeing a ‘regime’ only to land headlong in a ‘dictatorship’
“It seems fleeing a ‘regime’ leads one straight into a ‘dictatorship’,” Speaker of the Georgian Parliament Shalva Papuashvili wrote in a social media post today.
Papuashvili was responding to reports that criminal proceedings have been opened in Germany against Georgian activist Nata Peradze over a Facebook post.
“What poetic irony that the NGO propaganda claiming social media insults should be immune from prosecution has been shattered so neatly, and by their own hand,” Papuashvili stated.
Nata Peradze, who is currently residing in Germany, disclosed on social media earlier today that Berlin law enforcement authorities have launched criminal proceedings against her in connection with a Facebook post.
