Sepashvili: OSCEPA declaration’s author admitted to relying on unreliable sources, serving interests of Georgia’s enemies, including Russia

Eka Sepashvili, International Relations Secretary of the People’s Power Party, stated during her address at the 33rd Annual Session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly that the declaration concerning Georgia is based on false allegations and unreliable sources.

As Sepashvili noted, the declaration completely contradicts the OSCE/ODIHR report on Georgia’s 2024 parliamentary elections, adding that such actions actively serve the interests of Georgia’s adversaries.

“Mr President, dear colleagues, allow me to draw your attention to the bizarre situation emerging around Georgia. Today, the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly is adopting a declaration that directly contradicts the OSCE/ODIHR report on Georgia’s 2024 parliamentary elections, an unequivocally positive report.

Furthermore, one of the clauses in the declaration relies on a report prepared under the Moscow Mechanism, which points only to unsubstantiated allegations. Indeed, the author of that very report admitted to using unreliable sources. Such a politically motivated declaration serves the interests of Georgia’s enemies, including the Russian Federation. It jeopardises Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, while creating fertile ground for a skewed perception of reality and a distorted image of our country.

Today, as the international community faces the severe consequences of armed conflicts and every state grapples with security challenges, this kind of attitude and double standards only undermine global stability and peace. This approach threatens cooperation and security. Therefore, we must all focus on de-escalating threats and direct more effort towards protecting security and stability with due respect for international law, democratic standards, and facts that accurately reflect reality,” MP Eka Sepashvili has stated.
