Search and rescue operations ongoing in landslide-hit Shovi, MIA says
The search and rescue operations in Georgia’s Oni municipality have been nonstop for the third day after a landslide hit Shovi resort, killing at least 17 people.
Health Minister Zurab Azarashvili said, “Seven or eight children are missing.” Over 200 people have been moved to a safe area.
“Fire rescuers of the Emergency Situations Management Service, police units, drones, special equipment, and border police helicopters are involved in the operation. Herewith, the K-9 unit of the Emergency Situations Management Service is involved in search activities,” the Interior Ministry reported on Sunday.
