School guards to work in additional 260 schools in 2019-2020

School guards will work in additional 260 schools in 2019-2020 and will be provided with metal detectors. The project Safe School was presented at the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports.

Also based on the project, psychological service centers will become more functional and coordination and cooperation mechanisms among the School Guards Institute, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Social Service Agency and Ministry of Education will become efficient.

Work is ongoing on the creation of an online program to enable the involvement of parents, school administrations and Education Ministry in school life.

Internet portal for informing the public about acts of violence, www.befriend.mes.gov.ge, will be modified. Sports activities and campaigns will be held during the year throughout Georgia to promote a healthy lifestyle among the youngsters.
