The National Environmental Agency (NEA) has issued a forecast for the upcoming weather conditions in Georgia.
According to meteorologists, scattered precipitation, some of it heavy, is anticipated across the country, with snowfall in the mountains on January 13. On January 14, snow is expected throughout most of Georgia, with some areas experiencing particularly intense falls, accompanied by strong westerly winds and a storm at sea reaching force 4-5.
Furthermore, the National Environmental Agency warns of fog, blizzards, freezing on power lines, icy roads, and an increased risk of avalanches in mountainous regions.
“Due to heavy snowfall, blizzards, poor visibility, loose ice, and avalanche danger, traffic restrictions may be imposed on certain sections of the roads. The expected precipitation could also lead to rising water levels in the rivers of Western Georgia and may trigger landslides and mudslides in hilly and mountainous areas (medium hazard level),” the agency stated.
