Salome Zurabishvili – Telavi did not vote for me but I want to show that I am president of everybody

“Telavi did not vote for me. The city is one of the places where I lost in the elections, but I want to show to everyone that I am president of everybody,” Georgia’s President-elect Salome Zurabishvili stated when commenting about the initiative of choosing Telavi city of eastern Kakheti region as the venue for holding the inauguration ceremony.

“Telavi is my choice because the whole election campaign was focused on the topic that regions have to be brought forward to ensure their development. Georgia cannot be developed without regions,” she said.

Zurabishvili also clarified the second reason for selecting Telavi. She said that she lost elections to the oppositional candidate in Telavi but wanted to show to voters that she was the president of everybody even for those people, who did not vote in her favor.

The inauguration ceremony of the 5^th President of Georgia will be held on December 16, 2018.
