Rustaveli Avenue leader speaks of plan for how life will continue after October 5
“We know what will happen on October 5. We will release political prisoners, prisoners of conscience, and all those who are innocent but are imprisoned. The plan for how life will continue after October 5 is being elaborated,” said Paata Burchuladze, leader of the Rustaveli Avenue movement.
According to Burchuladze, one week ahead of October 4, the issues over which people who will convene for the National Assembly will vote are being decided.
“We will begin on the 4th and end on the 4th. There will be no Russian Dream on the 5th. We do not consider what will happen on October 5; we know what will happen. On the 5th, we will release political prisoners, prisoners of conscience, and all those who are innocent but are imprisoned. The plan for how life will continue after October 5 is being elaborated.
The fact that these people will not be in power on the evening of the 4th has been decided. Kobakhidze acknowledges that and is suspicious about everyone around him. We will hold the rally on the 4th, at the National Assembly, where people from across Georgia will arrive and take part. We will send invitations that are being printed. Two million invitations are being printed, and everyone will receive them at home. Many people will wish to be with us at this historic moment.
The issues, which will be put to a vote, are being written, and voting will take place at several locations. We will disclose those issues to be put to a vote, one week ahead of October 4. Who will resist us, who? This country belongs to the people by the Constitution. The situation is ripe; you see what is happening on Melikishvili Street, this resembles a natural disaster, but we don’t want a natural calamity on October 4. We should agree that this country belongs to us and we should grab the power. What’s easier than that, what’s incomprehensible here? Can 5,000 police officers resist 200-300,000 people?” he said.
