Russian occupation forces illegally detain two Georgian citizens

Representatives of the Russian occupation forces have illegally detained two Georgian citizens in the occupied territory near the village of Dirbi, Kareli municipality, the State Security Service of Georgia reported on Sunday.

The State Security Service said it had activated the hotline operated by the European Union Monitoring Mission and informed the Co-Chairs of the Geneva International Discussions and international partners.

“All existing mechanisms have been activated to release the illegally detained Georgian citizen as soon as possible.

The occupying force bears responsibility for all destructive actions committed in the occupied territories of Georgia, as well as along the occupation line,” reads the statement.
