Roland Meskhi appointed First Deputy Interior Minister

Roland Meskhi has been appointed First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, as announced by Vice Prime Minister Vakhtang Gomelauri.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) reports that Meskhi has dedicated many years to various roles within the ministry, most recently serving as Deputy Director of the Tbilisi Police Department since July 2021.

A lawyer by training, Meskhi graduated from Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University in 2002 and now holds the rank of police colonel, boasting 20 years of experience in law enforcement, according to the MIA.
