The Roads Department of Georgia accuses the opposition of spreading misinformation about the Rikoti project to mislead the public and generate a negative attitude toward the project.
The Department said in a statement that the “opposition United National Movement and the media outlets supporting its interests continue to propagate falsehoods about the project.”
According to the state agency, the project’s completion is scheduled for the end of 2023, and suggestions that the project should have been completed last year are false.
“Moreover, to persuade the public of corruption facts, entirely baseless and empty accusations continue to circulate. We reiterate that all design, construction, and supervision companies participating in the Rikoti highway’s construction were chosen through an international tender,” the Roads Department states.
