On January 19, 2026, the Permanent Representative of Georgia to the United Nations Office in Geneva and other international organizations, Revaz Lominadze, in his capacity as the Coordinator of the Eastern Europe Group of the UN Human Rights Council, held a meeting with the Permanent Representative of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Alexander Gabriel Yánez Deleuze.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Permanent Representative of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela reviewed the ongoing processes in Venezuela.
“The Georgian side noted that Georgia closely observes the developments in the country and expressed hope that further processes would develop in the interests of the people. The Georgian side emphasized that recognition of Georgia’s occupied Abkhazia and Tskhinvali regions by Venezuela represents a gross violation of international law principles.
The Georgian side expressed hope that the latest developments would contribute to the reversal and abolition of the unlawful decision in line with Georgia’s national interests and international law norms,” the Foreign Ministry said.
