Representatives of Movement “It is a Shame” and National Movement Party are holding a protest at the parliament building in Tbilisi in objection to the presentation of the candidacy of Giorgi Gakharia, Minister of Internal Affairs for post of Prime Minister.

Protesters are shouting to MPs calling them ‘shameful’ and ‘slaves.’ They claim that Gakharia is guilty of June 20-21 developments in Tbilisi and should not be appointed as Prime Minister. The police are mobilized at the parliament.

The demand of resignation of Minister of Internal Affairs Giorgi Gakharia has remained unchanged of the protest in front of the parliament building since June 21 after the so-called Gavrilov Night when the protest was dispersed by the riot police with the use of tear gas, rubber bullets and water cannon. About 240 people both civilians and law-enforcers were injured during the night of June 20-21.
