Report “Conflict in Georgia” to be discussed at committee of CoE deputy ministers
The 17th consolidated report “Conflict in Georgia” by Thorbjørn Jagland, Secretary General of the Council of Europe, will be presented for discussion at the 1314th sitting of Committee of Deputy Ministers of CoE today. Davit Zalkaliani, Deputy Foreign Minister will attend the discussions.
The report is about monitoring of commitments taken by the Russian Federation and Georgia in the aftermath of August 2008 Georgia-Russia war.
Georgian Foreign Ministry says that the consolidated report has full backing of member states and they express strong support to Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity within the internationally recognized borders.
Davit Zalkaliani will address the committee members with a speech. He will focus on the situation with respect to human rights across occupied territories, murder of Georgian soldier Archil Tatunashvili and latest abduction facts of Georgian locals.
Zalkaliani will also talk about the new peace initiative of the Georgian government “A Step for Better Future.”
