Reconciliation Minister meets GID co-chairs

State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Tea Akhvlediani met with the co-chairs of the Geneva International Discussions. During her talks with EU Special Representative Magdalena Grono, UN Representative Cihan Sultanoglu, and OSCE Special Representative Christoph Spiett, the Minister conveyed Georgia’s appreciation for their steadfast support of the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity within internationally recognised borders.

The talks focused on the significance of the Geneva platform and the need to make tangible progress on key issues, including humanitarian concerns.

Akhvlediani briefed the diplomats on the security, humanitarian, and human rights challenges in Georgia’s occupied regions and shared updates on Georgia’s ongoing reconciliation efforts.

She outlined initiatives aimed at improving socio-economic conditions for conflict-affected populations and fostering dialogue and confidence-building between the divided communities based on shared interests.

The parties reaffirmed their commitment to close cooperation moving forward.
