Iranian Ambassador: We will not let Israel and US decide when war ends once they start it
“To be honest, war is very close, but we are better prepared for war than before, more consolidated and better equipped,” Iran’s Ambassador to Georgia, Ali Mojani, said at a press conference held at the Iranian Embassy.
According to the Iranian ambassador, any security architecture in West Asia is inconceivable without Tehran, a fact that all states have clearly seen, including during Iran’s confrontation with a military force regarded as the world’s most powerful.
“Even after the United States declared the war over after 40 days, we continued to resist and did not even allow American bombers and fighter jets to take off from the US military base in Jordan, attacking them there,” Mojani said.
The Iranian diplomat stated that the United States and Israel could attack Iran again before the US midterm elections.
“Nevertheless, we are fully prepared for any scenario, even if war begins in the coming days. The Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council recently stated that, if war resumes, it will last longer. We will not allow Israel and the United States to determine when the war ends once they start it. We have conveyed this message very openly and explained to everyone that the war will end when Iran decides it should,” the Iranian ambassador said.
Asked whether, in the event of a new war and the anticipated expansion of its geographical scope, this should be understood as a threat to attack energy and transport infrastructure in the South Caucasus as well, the Iranian diplomat replied:
“Iranian officials have also stated that, naturally, if the war resumes, it will be broader in scope, and its geographical reach may expand. Any region from which we perceive a threat could accordingly become a target.
During various discussions between Iran and Georgia, including the recent meeting in Yerevan, as well as Iran’s meetings with other South Caucasus countries, it has consistently been stated that these countries will not become involved in wars launched against Iran. We welcome this.
Under the UN Charter, we have the full and legitimate right to target any military facility or logistics centre from which Iran faces a threat. We have conveyed this message to all neighbouring countries and to every country within the range of our missiles,” Ali Mojani said.
