Protest against Covid-19 restrictions to be held at Governmental Administration

Civil activists, opposition politicians, and representatives of tourism and other sectors staged a protest rally in front of the Governmental Administration.

The protesters object to the Covid-related regulations and restrictions imposed in the country and demand the reopening of businesses.

Demonstrators claim that they will start picketing the state institutions if their demands are not met.

Leader of Girchi-More Freedom Party Zurab Japaridze said that the rallies had to be large-scale to force the government to react.

“We demand lifting the imposed restrictions. However, I don’t believe that the government will step back. More people have to take to the street,” Zurab Japaridze claimed.

A similar protest was held on January 24. The protesters gave a 48-hour deadline to the government to lift the restrictions.
