The Georgian Prosecutor’s Office solved the premeditated group murder of Nikoloz Kvaratskhelia. The Prosecutor’s Office indicted Guram Kakulia, Davit Kakulia and Besarion Zhvania in the murder case.

The investigation conducted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs determined that brothers Guram and Davit Kakulias, to take revenge on the so-called thief in law, Gia Kvaratskhelia, and to strengthen their authority in the criminal world, organized the murder of Gia Kvaratskhelia’s son, Nikoloz Kvaratskhelia.

The father of brothers Kakulias, Davit Kakulia, was murdered on August 25, 2001, in Moscow, and reportedly, Gia Kvaratskhelia ordered his murder.

Guram and Davit Kakualias are imprisoned for committing another crime. Brothers Kakulias wounded an individual by shooting on Arakishvili Street in 2022 and were sentenced to 9 years in prison each for the crime.

The Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia will declare a search for Besarion Zhvania, the son of former Prime Minister Zurab Zhvania, in connection with the case of organizing a premeditated group murder of Nikoloz Kvaratskhelia.

“The Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia will file charges against Besarion Zhvania under Articles 25, 109, Part 2, Subparagraph “e” and Part 3, Subparagraph “g” of the Criminal Code of Georgia (as amended in 2021), which provides for a sentence of up to 20 years or life imprisonment,” Prosceutor Giorgi Mikaia stated at a briefing.
