The Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia has charged 13 additional individuals with attempting to seize a strategic facility of special importance, as well as organizing and participating in group violence.

According to information presented at a briefing, the Ministry of Internal Affairs determined that on October 4, 2025, Vladimer Gvelesiani, Nika Gventsadze, Mamuka Labuchidze, Gocha Katashvili, Guriel Kardava, Zurab Chavchanidze, Konstantine Kokaia, Sulkhan Abralava, Beka Kelekhsashvili, and Giorgi Kirvalidze, along with other individuals, acted on the calls of already detained organizers of group violence.

They allegedly attacked and damaged the protective fence of the Presidential Administration building and entered its yard with the intent to seize the facility.

The investigation revealed that in an attempt to take control of the building and resist law enforcement officers mobilized on site, the defendants acted aggressively, throwing iron structures and other objects, and verbally and physically assaulting officers, endangering their lives and health. Near the Presidential Palace, one of the detainees, Koba Epitashvili, allegedly assaulted a police officer, while another, Saba Kordzaia, threw a Molotov cocktail at law enforcement officers.

Investigators also identified another organizer of the events, Nana Sander.

“Nana Sander used social media to incite violence, raise funds for equipment and clothing, and issue instructions for confronting law enforcement. Sander demanded the release of arrested individuals and the evacuation of state institutions, threatening cruel retribution against law enforcement if these demands were not met.

The arrests were carried out on October 7–8 by order of the court.

Koba Epitashvili and Saba Kordzaia were charged under Part 2 of Article 225 of the Criminal Code (participation in group violence), punishable by up to six years in prison.

Vladimer Gvelesiani, Nika Gventsadze, Mamuka Labuchidze, Gocha Katashvili, Guriel Kardava, Zurab Chavchanidze, Konstantine Kokaia, Sulkhan Abralava, Beka Kelekhsashvili, and Giorgi Kirvalidze were charged under Subsection “a” of Part 2 of Article 19-222 (attempt to seize a strategic facility as part of a group) and Part 2 of Article 225 (participation in group violence), both carrying sentences of up to six years.

Nana Sander was charged under Part 1 of Article 225 (organization of group violence), which provides for up to nine years in prison,” the Prosecutor’s Office stated.

The Prosecutor’s Office stated it will request pre-trial detention for the accused.

“Authorities also reminded that in connection with the October 4 case, Paata Burchuladze, Murtaz Zodelava, Irakli Nadiradze, Paata Manjgaladze, and Lasha Beridze had already been charged with organizing and leading group violence, attempting to seize a strategic facility, attempting to overthrow the constitutional order, and calling for the violent overthrow of the government. The Tbilisi City Court has already ordered their pre-trial detention.

In total, 13 more individuals have now been detained and charged in the ongoing investigation, all of whom are under pre-trial detention,” the Prosecutor’s Office added.
