Prosecutor General engages in diplomatic talks with international prosecutors in Singapore

Prosecutor General of Georgia Giorgi Gvarakidze met with representatives of the International Association of Prosecutors (IAP), including Secretary General Roel Dona, Executive Director Janne Holst Hübner, and Chief Legal Advisor Shenaz Muzaffer, in Singapore, on the occasion of the 30th IAP Annual Conference.

According to the Georgian Prosecutor General’s Office, the parties explored avenues for future collaboration and underscored the enduring, fruitful partnership between Georgia and the International Association of Prosecutors during the meeting.

The International Association of Prosecutors (IAP) unites over 183 agencies from 180 countries, along with individual prosecutors. Georgia’s Prosecutor’s Office has been an organisational member of the IAP since 2011 and has maintained close cooperation with the organisation since 2014. Notably, in May 2018, a representative of Georgia’s Prosecutor’s Office was elected to the IAP’s governing body, the Executive Committee, thus affording Georgia an active role in the Association’s leadership and governance.
