Prosecution to insist on imprisonment for those detained for attempting to storm Presidential Palace
“A pre-trial hearing is scheduled for today regarding the individuals detained over the attempted break-in at the Presidential Palace. During this hearing, we will address the issue of recognising the evidence gathered by the parties, as well as the question of maintaining the current preventive measures,” stated Prosecutor Tamar Bezhuashvili in relation to the October 4 case.
According to the prosecutor, their position on the request for imprisonment remains immutable.
“Several additional pieces of evidence have been collected in this case, including protocols of witness interviews, further evidence from various individuals known to be victims, and expert reports, including a forensic analysis. These pieces of evidence unequivocally confirm that there are no traces of mechanical damage to the fence, such as cuts or other marks. As such, the prosecution has obtained further evidence before today’s hearing, the admissibility of which we will discuss in court. The case now meets the necessary standard to proceed to the next stage, as the prosecution possesses several clear and compelling pieces of evidence,” the prosecutor affirmed.
