Lasha Zhvania assumed the office in the President’s Administration on condition that he would leave after the management was arranged here, President’s Spokesperson Khatia Moistsrapishvili said at a news conference on Tuesday while commenting on the reasons of the decision of Lasha Zhvania, the Chief of the President’s Administration, to quit his post.

The President’s Spokesperson said that she does not yet know who will replace Lasha Zhvania as the Chief of the President’s Administration. Khatia Moistsrapishvili denies reports that there was a disagreement between Lasha Zhvania and President Salome Zurabishvili.

“There was not any disagreement. As it is known for everyone, Mr. Lasha has arrived in President’s Administration from the Patriarchate, where he served more than 8 years. He assumed the office in the President’s Administration on condition that he would leave and return to his old job after the management was arranged here,” President’s Spokesperson said.

Lasha Zhvania, Chief of President’s Administration announced that he will step down from his position on May 1, 2019. He will return to the Charity Foundation of the Patriarchy of the Georgian Orthodox Church.
