Georgian Ambassador to Israel: No decision on evacuation of people

The Israeli Defense Ministry has not made any decision about the evacuation of people from any city, Lasha Zhvania, Georgian Ambassador to Israel told the GPB’s First Channel.

The Ambassador confirmed that the Embassy had not received the information about Georgian citizens killed or injured in the shelling.

He said people were instructed to stay at shelters, and homes and refrain from moving from one place to another.

There are no Georgian citizens among the injured, and contact is kept with the Georgian citizens, the Georgian Foreign Ministery reported earlier on Saturday.

Hamas has launched more than 5,000 rockets from Gaza at Israel and kidnapped the bodies of Israeli soldiers killed in clashes on the border on Saturday, the Islamist group’s military wing said, as Israel declared a state of war alert. At least 22 people were killed and over 100 injured in the shelling.
