Embassy in Israel has no information about missing or injured Georgians

The Embassy in Israel has received no information about missing or injured Georgian citizens, said Lasha Zhvania, Georgian Ambassador to Israel.

According to Lasha Zhvania, no trace of Israeli-born Georgian young woman Tamar Goldenberg has been tracked. The Ambassador presumed she remained in captivity by terrorists.

“She is the daughter of a Georgian citizen. They are from Abkhazia and arrived in Israel 30 years ago. Tamar was born here, but her trace has not yet been found; she is probably in the hands of kidnappers. Today is the funeral of the brave Georgian Jew, Moshiashvili, who died heroically. His brother was killed in a military operation in 2014. This is a great tragedy in the family of our Georgian Jews,” he said.

Speaking about the situation in Israel, the Ambassador said that shelling continued in Ashkelon and Ashdod cities last night. A military raid is underway on the Gaza Strip.
