President says criminal situation in Georgia is not as serious as some TV stations want to show

Crime is a malady of the modern world and nothing is happening in Georgia that is not occurring elsewhere, said Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili.

The widespread coverage of crime has a negative impact on young people’s mental health, noted President.

“The criminal situation in Georgia is not as serious as some TV stations want to show. I think it is very hard when we hear only this from the TV all day long.

The widespread coverage of crime has a negative impact on young people’s mental health. It is a great responsibility when we make them live in such a tense situation. I think we should all take our responsibility, calm down a bit,” stressed Salome Zurabishvili.
