Cooperation between Qatar and Georgia becomes stronger – President of Georgia Salome Zurabishvili said in an interview with Peninsula Qatar publication.
According to Georgian President, Qatar and Georgia would sign new agreements in the nearest future that would deepen the cooperation between the two countries in investment, education, culture, innovations and technology spheres.
“The governments of our countries finished working on two very important agreements. One has to do with joint protection of investments and the other – technical and economic cooperation,” Zurabishvili said.
In the interview, President of Georgia touched upon the 2020 FIFA World Cup and said that it was for the first time when Mundial would take place in the near east, near Georgia.
“This gives us an additional advantage and creates new opportunities to transform cooperation in tourism sphere onto a new stage. By hosting the World Cup, Qatar and the whole region will be in the centre of attention,” Zurabishvili said.
Georgia’s President invited Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to Georgia in 2020.
