President of CoE Parliamentary Assembly to Georgian PM: Direct threat against President Zourabichvili to imprison her unacceptable

President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Theodoros Rousopoulos, reminded Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze “that his country is a member of the Council of Europe. The direct threat he made today against President Salome Zourabichvili to imprison her when her term of office expires on 29 December is unacceptable, contrary to the principles of democracy and the rule of law.”

Theodoros Rousopoulos called on PM Kobakhidze “to withdraw this statement and to align himself with the principles of the Council of Europe, which he must respect.”
