President Kavelashvili: We honour every fighter who died for Georgia's independence
“February 25, 1921, left a heavy mark on the history of the Georgian people and Georgia. Despite the enemy’s great advantage, Georgian fighters did their utmost to defend their homeland,” President of Georgia Mikheil Kavelashvili wrote on social media.
Kavelashvili wrote, “It was the heroic dedication of these people that saved the idea of an independent and free Georgia, which withstood years of occupation and was ultimately expressed in the restoration of Georgia’s independence.”
“We honour each fighter who died in the struggle for Georgia’s independence, whose sacrifice is truly invaluable. The pain of today should always remind us how precious our country’s independence is and how much caution and responsibility each of us must exercise. Glory and eternal memory to the heroes who died for their homeland!” Mikheil Kavelashvili posted on social media.
