President Kavelashvili says Georgian parliamentary delegation responded appropriately to Joe Wilson

“Our parliamentary delegation has delivered an appropriate response to Joe Wilson. Members of our parliament are continually making accurate observations and providing an objective assessment of his remarks,” the President of Georgia, Mikheil Kavelashvili, has stated.

According to the President, it is perfectly obvious to Georgian citizens what motives lie behind the congressman’s actions.

“To be perfectly frank, I am no longer interested in the actions of a single congressman who is clearly biased. It is plain for any citizen to see, it is written on the wall, exactly what is driving him. Therefore, we should pay as little attention as possible to the assessments of such individuals.

Instead, we ought to focus our attention and scrutiny on the government’s actual performance, initiatives, and legislative decisions; let us talk about that instead. Let the public hold us to account and criticise the Georgian authorities on what we might have handled differently or what should have been done regarding the challenges we face,” President Kavelashvili remarked.
