Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili has held a meeting with United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres.
According to the President’s press service, the discussion placed particular emphasis on the significance of peace and sustainable development.
“Georgia’s role in promoting peace and stability across the South Caucasus was acknowledged,” the press statement noted.
The meeting also focused on the global challenges we face today,” they added.
Mikheil Kavelashvili remarked that the Georgian government’s unwavering commitment to peace, stability, and economic prosperity remains steadfast.
“Antonio Guterres expressed gratitude for Georgia’s chosen path of peace, stability, and development,” the President of Georgia stated after the meeting.
“During the discussions, Secretary-General Guterres complimented us on enduring significant pressures. He thanked us for pursuing such a righteous course for Georgia’s future. This recognition is very encouraging,” Kavelashvili explained.
The Georgian President also left a memorable inscription in the UN Book of Honourary Guests.
