President Kavelashvili meets Emir of Qatar

The President of Georgia, Mikheil Kavelashvili, has met with the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the President’s administration has announced.

According to the administration, during the meeting in Doha, the Georgian President personally extended his deepest condolences to the Emir on the passing of the former Emir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. He paid tribute to his profound legacy and contribution to the development of modern Qatar.

“During the meeting, the two sides discussed the ongoing partnership between Georgia and Qatar, as well as prospects for deepening future cooperation. The President expressed his gratitude to the State of Qatar for its steadfast support of Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The meeting also highlighted the paramount importance of peace, stability, and diplomatic dialogue in the region, including Qatar’s highly constructive role in international mediation efforts,” the administration’s statement read.
