“I want to assure the Georgian society that we are heading in the right direction,” Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili told reporters as he reflected on his visit to New York.

According to Kavelashvili, several world leaders, including U.S. President Donald Trump, have spoken about the core values that Georgia upholds.

“I want to assure the Georgian society that we are heading in the right direction. Many leaders have spoken about values. Notably, the U.S. President’s speech was significant. We share the principles he highlighted, including the importance of national interests, sovereignty, safeguarding our culture, and prioritising one’s own country. He called on everyone to look after their own nations.

We have been pursuing this path for some time now. Furthermore, he emphasised the significance of family and faith, which are also central to our nation’s identity. I urge the people of Georgia to stay strong,” the President of Georgia stated.
