President Kavelashvili holds introductory meeting with Chinese Ambassador

President of Georgia Mikheil Kavelashvili met with Zhou Qian, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Georgia.

At the introductory meeting, the Chinese Ambassador congratulated Mikheil Kavelashvili on assuming the presidential office and wished him success in his future activities.

The meeting addressed the strategic partnership between Georgia and China. The discussion focused on prospects for deepening political, trade-economic, cultural, and people-to-people relations.

The President of Georgia noted that free trade, strategic partnership, and the visa-free regime contribute to the further development of Georgian-Chinese relations, strengthening people-to-people contacts, business connections, and economic cooperation. Special attention was paid to the importance of the Middle Corridor and Georgia’s transit role.

The President stated that Georgia is ready to maximize its support for the development, security, and effective functioning of the Middle Corridor.

The meeting emphasized the challenges existing at regional and international levels and underlined the special importance of stability and peace.

The President of Georgia hosted the diplomat at the presidential residence.
